Helix Embedded is my consulting practice. I help startups and product teams build connected hardware products that actually ship, owning the firmware, hardware integration, and technical direction so they don’t have to build an in-house embedded team to get there.

I’m Timothy Adu. I’ve spent over a decade working on embedded systems across the full product lifecycle, from early architecture decisions through firmware development, hardware-software integration, and getting products ready for production. The focus is simple: reduce technical risk, make the right calls early, and ship products that hold up in the real world.

Alongside the consulting work, I run training and mentoring for embedded engineers who want to build the kind of skills that hold up in production. The training is built directly on what I see going right and wrong in actual projects.
